RRT Donated 90km of Fencing for Cyclone Hit Farmers
The farmers of Kaipara and Rodney attended RRT’s Farmers Community Connect event, alongside 350 other farmers to receive tonnes of fencing materials to help them recover from the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabrielle.
"We want to thank you for the blessing we have received with the donation of Fencing materials collected from Wellsford on the 30th November. It wasn't just the materials but the friendship extended through kai and conversations that followed."

Following the successful events held in Hastings, Gisborne, Wairoa and Waipukurau, more than 90km of fencing and 24,000 posts were donated to farmers from an area covering Northland down to Auckland. Locals were invited to come along and enjoy one of RRT’s trademark burgers complete with barista coffee, while bringing together local commmunities. Additionally, they were offered a range of support services such as veterinary support, rural financial counsellors, financial services and mental wellbeing/community health support.
As RRT Director, Danny Blampied, says, “The event is about bringing the farming community together to have a bite to eat, a chat with mates and to offer each other support. It’s a great chance for the community to connect.”
To date, RRT has donated 930 fencing packs valued at over $1.4 million. This has included 73,000 fencing posts, 92,000 battens, 280 kms of fencing wire and over 2,000 meals.
