The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has furthered its commitment to youth empowerment by donating a driver training car to Blue Light Dargaville. This donation is part of RRT’s broader initiative, having contributed a total of five cars to Blue Light across New Zealand over the past three years.

Blue Light Dargaville, a vital community resource for over thirty years, serves young people aged 5 to 24 through various programs. With 80% of jobs now requiring a full driving license, RRT’s donation addresses a significant need in Northland and South Auckland, where financial barriers often impede access to driver training.

So far in 2024, these cars have been instrumental, facilitating 645 lessons and tests, and helping 39 students obtain their driver’s licenses. RRT’s support exemplifies their dedication to care and compassion, empowering youth to overcome obstacles and enhance their career prospects. This collaboration highlights how community partnerships can drive meaningful change and create opportunities for the next generation.

"...the kids don't have the money for the driver licensing programs. They don't have somebody who's got a full license who can teach them."
