RRT Supports Riders Making a Difference at Southern Scooter Challenge
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) supported the Southern Scooter Challenge, a charity fundraising 160km scooter journey raising funds for The Grace Street Project in South Invercargill.
The event brought people together around a shared purpose, supporting a community-led initiative focused on creating opportunities, connection, and positive change. The Grace Street Project is working to address challenges faced by South Invercargill, where there are high levels of deprivation and youth disadvantage. The vision is to establish a multi-purpose community space that provides a safe and inclusive environment, supports learning and personal development, and strengthens social connection.
This year’s challenge saw an incredible turnout, with around 200 riders taking part and 187 bikes lining up at the start. Together, they raised over $60,000 for Invercargill’s new community hub. A big thank you to all the riders for getting behind such a meaningful cause.
RRT volunteers were onsite in Tuatapere, serving 260 Signature Burgers and cake to participants and supporters. A well-earned burger for the riders!
"We were in awe of the Rapid Relief Team’s operation at Tuatapere – what an amazing service for the community. Great quality food, seamless operation for big numbers at speed… It was amazing to see you all in action."
