In a year which has created so many difficulties for charitable groups, the power of collaboration has never been more important.

RRT UK knows first-hand the benefits of collaboration, and the team’s close work with local organisations – from charities to police constabularies – enables volunteers to offer targeted support to hundreds of families each year. Last year alone, RRT UK delivered 8,816 food boxes, giving families across every corner of the United Kingdom the chance to enjoy a healthy, wholesome meal.

RRT UK’s recently announced partnership with the Food Foundation will give volunteers the chance to ramp up this important work, while also giving team leaders the chance to share their local expertise with councils and other organisations on the frontline in the fight against food poverty.

RRT has already contributed to the foundation’s #EndChildFoodPoverty interactive map, which seeks to spread the word about organisations which are offering emergency support to those in need.

Rod Buckley, Director of the Rapid Relief Team UK, said:

“At the Rapid Relief Team, our volunteers have an excellent knowledge of the local areas in which they operate, thanks to strong relationships with local authorities, the police and social services. This is part of our community-driven approach which aims to make sure that those in need are always getting the support they need.” he said.

“By forging strong relationships with the community, we are able to support the individuals, schools, community centres and, indeed, other charities which need it the most.” Rod continued.
