Volunteers from RRT Supported Army Cadet Unit on the Sunshine Coast
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has supported an Australian Army Cadet training exercise on the Sunshine Coast, catering to a group of cadets as they took part in a full day of field activities.
RRT volunteers cooked and served 65 hot dinners to cadets and staff from the local Army Cadet Unit.
Local Team Leader Daniel Hungerford said RRT was happy to help ensure everyone was well-fed and looked after following a demanding day of training.
“Our volunteers from Nambour were pleased to be on site to support the Australian Army Cadets as they underwent this training exercise,” said Daniel.
“We brought along our barbeques to provide 65 hot dinners and refreshments – just what they needed after a full day of challenging and physically demanding fieldwork.
“Supporting training exercises such as this reflects RRT’s ongoing commitment to backing frontline organisations that support our communities and help keep us safe.”
As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren values, which emphasise service, generosity and caring for communities through practical action.
Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
