PRESS RELEASE

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has provided a barbeque lunch at Sturt Reserve to support the Murray Bridge community, in partnership with AC Care and Genuine Support Services Australia.

RRT is the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, which has been part of the region for 20 years.

RRT Local Team Leader Luke Butcher said the event brought together volunteers, staff and community members to share a meal and a fun day out in the sunshine by the Murray River.

“When we invited Genuine Support Services Australia’s Social Group to attend the BBQ, they were delighted to join us and make their weekly gathering a little more special,” said Luke.

“We were also happy to collaborate with AC Care, which is another great local organisation making a difference in the local community.

“It’s a privilege to provide meals to bring people from our region together.”

Genuine Support Services Australia is an organisation that supports those living with disability and mental health.

AC Care is a non-government organisation providing community services in Limestone Coast, Riverland, Murraylands, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.

The Rapid Relief Team is the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. Established in 2013, the RRT has more than 16,500 volunteers around the world who support community events and assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support.
