RRT Supports Community Celebration at Wollongong NAIDOC Family Fun Day
Rapid Relief Team (RRT) volunteers assisted with catering at a NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day in Wollongong, helping support a community celebration that brought local families together to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Held at Dapto Showground, the free community event welcomed members of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, along with families and residents from across the region.
As part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, the Family Fun Day provided an opportunity for community members to connect, participate in activities and access information and support from local organisations.
RRT volunteers provided catering assistance, helping organisers serve food to attendees throughout the day.
RRT Wollongong Local Team Leader Clinton Nason said volunteers were pleased to support an event focused on community, culture and connection.
“Events like this create valuable opportunities for people to come together, celebrate culture and strengthen community ties. Our volunteers were delighted to help support the day and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere.”
The Family Fun Day formed part of broader NAIDOC Week celebrations held across the country, recognising the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
