RRT Support Vinnies Community Sleepout

In August 2025, the St Vincent de Paul Society invited communities across NSW to take part in the Vinnies Community Sleepout.

Hot meals for a cold night, RRT volunteers were proud to support the Vinnies NSW Community Sleepout events across Albury, Armidale, Wagga Wagga, and Greater Sydney. The Sleepout saw locals spend a night out in the cold to raise awareness and vital funds for those doing it tough in their communities.

This grassroots initiative opened participation to everyone – local businesses, schools, and community members – giving people the opportunity to sleep out for one night, gain insight into the realities of homelessness, and raise funds to support those doing it tough.

RRT supports not only the Vinnies CEO Sleepout events in the Metropolitan areas but also extends its support to the Vinnies Community Sleepouts.

The message was simple yet profound: locals supporting locals.

Across the four main events, Vinnies raised over $130,000, with every dollar staying in the regions to help people most in need.

RRT volunteers also extended their support to other Community Sleepout events, including in Orange, Moss Vale, and Young, serving 305 meals on the night, supported by amazing volunteers who dedicated their time to this important cause.
