Regional Firefighter Championships in Goulburn Backed by RRT

Rapid Relief Team has thrown its support behind the frontline, providing food to fuel the NSW Regional Firefighter Championships in Goulburn.

The two-day event brought together firefighters from NSW and Victoria to test their skills by putting them through challenging emergency simulations.

Local Team Leader Steve Lee said 11 RRT volunteers were on hand to provide breakfast and dinner to firies, officials and spectators.

“RRT is always ready to support our firefighters, whether during an emergency or at a great event like this that showcases their strength, speed and teamwork,” said Steve.

“We served 240 bacon and egg rolls and 320 loaded sausage rolls at the Regional Firefighter Championships at Goulburn, ensuring everyone was ready to be put to the test!”

Michael Morris, Deputy Commissioner, Fire and Rescue NSW, expressed his gratitude to RRT: “When I arrive at an event and see the RRT tent set up to support our crews, I know they’ll be welcomed with a friendly smile, served quality food, and looked after from start to finish.

“We greatly appreciate the Rapid Relief Team and everything they do to support our emergency services.”

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren faith, which encourages members to serve their communities through practical care, generosity and support.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
