RRT has helped akcnowledge an historic day, serving a barbecue feast at the Gympie Fire Station Open Day to mark 125 years since the brigade was established.

A street parade and a community open day were held, with the community invited into historic station on Bligh Street.

RRT Gympie volunteers served 200 meals, barbequing up Signature Burgers, sausage sandwiches and Barista-made coffee.

This was a special event for the Gympie community and our volunteers, and we are so appreciative of everything that our first responders do. It was a chance to enjoy the local history of Gympie Fire Station and its role in the community. RRT is grateful to have been able to do our part in showing appreciation.

“It just made the day that much better. Everyone was happy to have a nice burger, a coffee and a chat. We had other agencies here – Ambulance, SES and Rural Fire Brigade, and everyone had a great time.”

Inspector Matt Phillips, Area Commander

RRT has a long-standing history of supporting emergency services, and we are priviledged to be about to show our support in more ways than one.
