Australian Water Rescue Challenge Fuelled by RRT
RRT has served up more than 1,200 meals to rescue professionals to ensure they were running on full throttle during the Australian Water Rescue Challenge at Penrith Whitewater Stadium.
The annual event, hosted by the Australasia Rescue Organisation (ARO) brought together skilled professionals from across Australia and Malaysia, to compete in swift-water rescue scenarios.
RRT volunteers supported the event by providing meals and refreshments, serving more than 1,290 meals throughout the day.
RRT made sure its menu was nutritious and high-quality to fuel the competitors properly. Our volunteers are always happy to support our frontline workers – whether it is in an emergency scenario or at a competitive event like the Australian Water Rescue Challenge.

“Having RRT on site taking care of the meals ensure organisers and participants could stay focused on what mattered most, the training and teamwork at hand.”
Penrith Local Team Leader, Ron Simpson
Participating services included Queensland Fire Department, Fire and Rescue NSW, VRA Rescue, NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Rescue, Surf Life Saving NSW and Marine Rescue NSW.
