She Inspires: A Celebration of Growth and Teamwork

Posted: December 18, 2024

From December 11th to 12th, RRT volunteers from Liverpool reunited to support the ‘She Inspires’ event, which was organised by the Merseyside Police Chief Constable and the Police Chief Crime Commissioner in conjunction with Liverpool FC Foundation and Everton in the Community. The event is designed to empower students aged 13 to 14 both on and off the pitch.

The She Inspires event continues to grow. 400 girls were given an exclusive tour of Goodison Park as part of the program. Alongside this, Everton and Liverpool delivered the girls’ motivational football sessions and other workshops.

Educational workshops were also a key feature of the event, covering essential topics such as healthy relationships, resilience, teamwork, and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), delivered by Merseyside Police. These sessions were designed to empower the girls, build their confidence, and help them unlock their full potential on and off the pitch.

Everton in the Community and the LFC Foundation continue to run sessions and practical workshops both in and outside of the schools throughout the academic year, inviting students from across the region to participate. These sessions aim to boost confidence and provide leadership guidance, with motivational talks from professional coaches representing the city’s two Premier League clubs.

The two-day event was packed with energy. RRT volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the program, grilling and serving 450 burger meals to keep participants energised and ready to tackle the activities.

Collaboration, support, and skill development were at the heart of the event, creating an uplifting environment where young players could thrive. This celebration of sportsmanship and personal growth marked another successful milestone of the She Inspires initiative.
