RRT St Austell Supports Exercise Tor Rescue on Bodmin Moor

Posted: April 9, 2026

Exercise Tor Rescue brought together the East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team and Cornwall College’s Uniformed Protective Services students on Bodmin Moor for a challenging training exercise. The day focused on developing vital search skills in the demanding and often inhospitable terrain of the Moor, helping participants build confidence, teamwork, and practical experience for real-life rescue situations.

RRT St Austell were pleased to support the exercise by providing a hot, freshly cooked burger meal to those taking part. The warm food was very much appreciated by all involved and offered a welcome morale boost during a physically demanding day.

“It was a pleasure to support the East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team and the students during Exercise Tor Rescue. The commitment and professionalism shown throughout the exercise was clear to see, and we were delighted to provide hot meals to keep everyone going.”

Sam Furse

RRT St Austell Local Team Leader
