RRT Gloucester Supports Emergency Crews After Boxing Day House Fire in Stroud
On Boxing Day, a devastating house fire in Stroud claimed the lives of three people. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with the family, and everyone impacted by this tragic event.
The response involved a large multi-agency effort, including Gloucestershire Police, Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service, Avon & Somerset USAR Team, Somerset Ambulance, and Heart Teams. Their dedication and professionalism ensured the operation progressed as quickly and safely as possible, despite the difficult circumstances and cold weather.
“A huge thanks for what you're providing for my officers in Gloucestershire Constabulary today – the quality of the support, the food, drinks, the immediate arrival on scene and being able to stay for the duration during the period of cold weather has been outstanding. The warm welcome to everybody, certainly to me here this morning and to everyone else working here day in day out 24/7 – so a huge thank you from me.”
Maggie Blyth
Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary
RRT Gloucester was humbled to provide 135 hot meals and refreshments over four days to support these crews as they carried out their vital work.
