The Newtown RRT were delighted to support the local community in Kerry and the surrounding area again this year for the annual fund raising ‘Fun Day’, on Saturday 2nd September.

Many sideshows and events lined the playing fields, giving visitors of all ages plenty of things and activities to do all day.  From flinging a welly boot with all your might to having faces painted and watching greyhounds racing, it was an action-packed day.

Throughout the day, our BBQ was cooking over 250 of our signature premium burger and sausage meals.  Wonderful weather meant the chilled drinks were a hit, keeping everyone hydrated during the event!

A fantastic day was had by all, and the team were doing what we do best – supporting the community with care and compassion.  As one of our local volunteers, Matthew Lynes, said “it was a great privilege to be included again in this excellent event helping to raise much needed funds for local community facilities.”

The Newtown team were back in action on Saturday 9th September supporting Kaleidoscope, a local alcohol and drug misuse charity at a fund-raising football match. The neighbouring team from Shrewsbury were on the banks of the River Severn, supporting Macmillan’s World Coracle Championship.

We are a global charity organisation helping to support local and international needs and are operated by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.  As well as operating at a local level, we have been providing relief to those at the heart of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.  Since March 2022, RRT have been donating Care Kits, Baby Care Kits and Family Food Boxes to displaced Ukrainians. Over 3 million meals have been provided to those displaced with commitment continuing for the foreseeable future.
