The village of Fishlake near Doncaster is one of the areas severely affected by the devastating floods that have hit residents and communities across South Yorkshire. RRT volunteers were called into action on Tuesday (12th Nov) afternoon.

After navigating their way through flooded lanes and streets, the team quickly set up in Fishlake and began serving burger meals and hot and cold refreshments. Over 200 meals were provided to the vast array of emergency services and environment agency workers. RRT Doncaster will continue their presence at the scene throughout Wednesday (13th Nov) providing a meal between 16.00 – 20.00.

The devastation continued in the Doncaster area, especially in the village of Fishlake. With continued rain, the efforts to pump the floodwater away was hampered. The Rapid Relief Team kept up their presence in the village providing meals in the afternoon/evening for the Emergency personnel which included the Army. In total, RRT Doncaster served 950 meals over 4 days.

Our thoughts are with the residents of Fishlake in the coming weeks and months as the clean-up operation begins.
