RRT Supports Foyle Down Syndrome’s Family Fun Day
In celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, local volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Londonderry lent their support to the Foyle Down Syndrome organisation during their Family Fun Day event on December 16th.
Down syndrome affects approximately 40,000 people in the UK. Founded in 1995 by a group of local parents, Foyle Down Syndrome is a trust committed to raising awareness and supporting individuals with Down syndrome. The organisation focuses on empowering children and young people with the condition, helping them lead fulfilling and productive lives.
Dedicated to fostering community engagement, the trust offers various services and programs, including one-on-one education, music therapy, social enterprise opportunities, and speech and language therapy.
RRT proudly contributed to the event by grilling and serving 150 burgers to attendees, family, friends, and community members. The Family Fun Day was a tremendous success, drawing a fantastic turnout with activities for everyone. It was a full day of celebration, connection, and community spirit, where attendees shared conversations and supported the trust’s inspiring mission.
