The Palmerston North and Fielding RRT (Rapid Relief Team) were delighted to be included in a very exciting 2-day event supporting Cure Kids.

RRT’s job was to support them with a sausage sizzle, refreshments, and collecting the funds raised by more than 700 children along with the fun of handing out the prize of a Cure Kids t shirts to all those kids that did a fantastic job and raised funds in excess of $100!

RRT set up at Linton Army Camp, supporting the Cancer Society & Cure Kids

RRT sold sausages on both Friday and Saturday for $2 with ALL proceeds going to Cure Kids, along with handing out many water bottles to keep the participants well hydrated during this challenging and exciting race.

Lunch is served to many hungry supporters!

The challenge took place on the course inside the New Zealand Army Camp at Linton, Manawatu, a challenging and enjoyable track.  The Tough Guy & Gal Challenge is New Zealand’s biggest mud run series, and with having had over 160mm of rain in the last 3 weeks and more rain forecast for both days, there was sure to be of a great deal of mud included in the fun!

… and sure a lot of mud!

The 1.5km, 3km (for kids), 6km or 12km courses are designed to get participants muddy while completing awesome obstacles including net climbs, barb wire crawls, swamp crossings, climbing frames, tunnels and a wonderful mud pit….!!

A great event, with Friday being the Junior Event with over 700 children registered and Saturday being the adult event with over 900 registered, what a great cause and not one to be missed!
