The Torbay RRT was asked if they would help the Torquay Chamber of Commerce who were running the Homeless Shoebox appeal for the South West of the UK.

The Chamber of Commerce had nominated 2 drop off points in Torquay but had no means of collecting the boxes, and delivering them to the homeless. RRT were very happy to help, and volunteers collected over 130 boxes full of warm clothing, toiletries etc for the homeless people of Torquay, and delivered them to the Leonard Stock centre in Factory Row, Torquay. These were very gratefully received and will give the homeless something to look forward to on Christmas day.

Torquay has a large number of Homeless and RRT were humbled to see what the Leonard Stock centre does for the needy, and homeless working hard to rehouse these people and help them get back into work. RRT were given a full tour of the centre, which has amazing facilities to shelter and care for such persons, and were glad to have been able to play a small part in helping this worthy cause.

Danny Crowley, project manager at Shekinah Mission gave a personal thankyou – ‘the residents here at LSC will have a lovely Christmas thanks to you at RRT’.
