On the 31st of March, the Create Foundation held an Easter Party at The Don Busco Youth Centre, Brunswick, Melbourne.

The foundation is set up to care and foster children with an ‘out-of-home care experience’ as resulting from homelessness, domestic violence etc.

Create Foundation is the national peak consumer body representing the voices of children and young people in these circumstances, while continuously improving and developing policy and research to advocate for a better care system. It is a fantastic organisation with over 50 years of experience with working with young people! Everything they do is based on their ethos to ‘Connect, Empower, Change’.

Being such a worthy cause, 8 members of the Melbourne RRT were pleased to support the event by providing the children and their carers/family with a BBQ lunch.

Approximately 90 burgers were well received by all and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere and beautiful weather only added to the enjoyment.

The day was further filled out full of fun ‘Easter’ activities to help and encourage the disadvantaged children.

After seeing the smiles from the little faces, RRT members felt they achieved their aim for the day to ‘Give these kids something to smile about’

Making a small difference to someone’s day is always rewarding for the RRT members. The positive comments only confirmed this, with many grateful thank-yous for what RRT had done.

RRT look forward to assisting in further events for the foundation!
