RRT Backs Kalability AFL Carnival

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has once again supported the Kalability AFL Carnival, an inclusive sporting event enjoyed by hundreds of secondary students with disabilities from across Perth.

Run by Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre, the Term Two AFL Carnival saw 16 teams from up to a dozen schools competing across three divisions.

Local Team Leader Richard Craddock said RRT volunteers from Kalamunda cooked up Signature Burgers for up to 300 students, teachers and support staff throughout the day.

“RRT has been supporting the Kalability Sport Program for years and they are always great events that help kids of all abilities feel empowered and enjoy themselves playing sport,” said Richard.

“Our volunteers were pleased to be on the sidelines for the AFL Carnival, preparing and serving meals, helping everything run smoothly and making sure everyone was having a good feed and a lot of fun.

“We congratulate Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre for all they do to support and encourage all-ability sports education.”

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren faith, which encourages members to serve their communities through practical care, generosity and inclusion.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
