The Los Angeles RRT volunteer team headed down to the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday, April 14 to support the Lupus Tailgate and Twilight Stroll.  Having volunteered at the event for the 2 years previous, the volunteers were greeted by the event coordinator Joanna with appreciation and gratitude.  The RRT tent was set up in the middle of the event area, providing much needed shade for the eager Walk-A-Thon participants and volunteers.  RRT Volunteers assisted with checking in registrants and collecting donations while others directed parking and handed out waters.

Registering for the Walk to Cure Lupus event in LA

Many of the participants had formed fundraising teams, in support of a loved one who is suffering from Lupus, and wore purple shirts, the official colour for Lupus support.  Attendees had tailgate parties, participated in a number of activities such as yoga and bean bag toss and listened to a live band until the twilight stroll started at around 6:30 pm.  The fundraising stroll took the participants on a 3-mile loop through the Rose Bowl stadium and around the surrounding park land.
